Watching movies with friends is going to be easier now. The company has launched a new feature for iOS and other Apple devices. Its name is Shareplay. With the help of this, users can watch movies on Facetime with their friends. Apple revealed this feature at the Worldwide Developer Conference event on Monday.
This new feature will work with every movie content including TV shows, music and other apps. Currently, Apple gives users the benefits of Disney Plus, HBO Max, Hulu, Twitch, Paramount Plus, ESPN Plus, Masterclass, NBA, PlutoTV and Apple TV Plus.
How to use this feature the Facetime Share Play will be available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac desktop and laptops. At the same time, it will work directly with the help of FaceTime app. To use this feature, you must have a call or if you are calling someone, then they can share whatever content they have with you. In such a situation, everyone can see this sharing.
During the WWDC event, Apple announced that both Android and Windows users will be getting the FaceTime call feature. However, it has not been confirmed yet whether Windows users will be able to take advantage of the Share Play feature or will it be limited to Apple users only.
Share Play is part of the iOS 15 update which is expected to launch by the end of this year. In this event, Apple is adding device speech recognition for Siri. This is to avoid unwanted user recording. Apple says that device processing will speed things up as well.
Apple has also made new announcements regarding security. Apple is adding a new app privacy report to Settings. Here you will be able to see how the apps are using the privacy settings for which you have given them access. So often an app uses your location, photos etc.
