ZIM Vs PAK: Zimbabwe at the pace of Hasan Ali, Pakistan won the Test by a huge margin
After Fawad Alam’s 140, Pakistan beat Zimbabwe by an innings and 116 runs in the first Test match on Saturday with five wickets from Hasan Ali in the second innings. Man of the match, 26-year-old Hassan was also shocked by four wickets in the first innings, which led his team to finish the match in just three days. Pakistan scored 426 runs in response to 176 runs in Zimbabwe’s first innings.
Zimbabwe had to score at least 250 runs in the second innings to force Pakistan to bat again, but the entire team was dismissed for 134 runs. Pakistan started the third day with 374 for six, with Fawad playing at 108 at the time. He hit 20 fours in his 204-ball innings before being dismissed as Pakistan’s last batsman.
Zimbabwe Blessing Muzarabani took the most four wickets for. No wicket fell to Zimbabwe until lunch and the score was 36/0 in the second innings. After lunch, Pakistan started taking wickets at regular intervals and by tea, Zimbabwe had a score of 118/5. Terai Musakenda smashed 43 and captain Brendan Taylor scored 29, but apart from these two, only Kevin Kasuja (28) and Regis Chakabwa (14) could cross the double figures.
